Two of the stars, Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey, who appeared on Grey’s Anatomy have jointly signed a two year contract for the series. Both will continue a prominent presence in the 11th and 12th season of the medical establishment series.
It’s all the way to 2016 for Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey. They have signed on for two more profitable (and grueling) years on Grey’s Anatomy. Appearing in their on-screen personas as Dr. Meredith Grey and Dr. Derek Shepherd respectively, the two have been a regular feature on the show since it started about a decade ago.

ABC’s medical dramatic act was much liked by an audience that hung on to every twist and turn on the extremely popular series. However, one of their fellow thespians isn’t that lucky. Sandra Oh has decided to drop out and she won’t partake in the new scenes that the crew will start shooting soon.
Over half a dozen of the original cast has contracts that are due to expire this time around. The names on the list include Pompeo and Dempsey. Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. are the others. Except for the former two the rest are in a state of limbo for now. The reason for this is very simple.
Pompeo and Dempsey are the main linchpins around which the whole drama revolves. The fans of the show meanwhile are waiting around with fluttering heartbeats for the action to begin for the 11th and 12th seasons. It will be an eventful two years watching Grey’s Anatomy on television.
