Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught DLC launches

Activision has announced that the first DLC pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts is now available to download. The expansion pack is Onslaught and is the first of four packs. The expansion pack also includes the first part of the four part Extinction story following the first contact with the Cryptid aliens.

"Onslaught delivers a ton of exciting, new content for Call of Duty: Ghosts fans to enjoy on next gen and current gen alike," said Daniel Suarez, Vice President of Production, Activision Publishing, Inc. "It begins with a diverse set of maps that personify that classic Call of Duty-style of fast, frantic and exhilarating action. It doesn’t stop there, because Infinity Ward and Neversoft have taken it to another level; whether it’s becoming Michael Myers fromHalloween as you pursue your opponents, to creating the first dual-purpose weapon in Call of Duty history, or crafting a new chapter in Extinction that introduces new characters and even a three-story tall Cryptid alien boss,Onslaught has something for all Call of Duty players, and we're excited fans can finally get their hands on it."

The maps include Fog, where players can become Michael Myers, the classic horror film character. Other maps include BayView, containment, and Ignition. Three other DLC packs will be coming this year and a season pass is available for $49.99. The pack also includes a new weapon that can be used as a sniper rifle or assault rifle.

The Murder Report tallies the onscreen kills in the console makers’ E3 press events.E3 is well underway, which means that it’s time for our annual accounting of video game slaughter, the Murder Report! Shame On The Gaming Industry: Severed Heads Outnumbered Women Speakers At The E3 Conference

Source: Business Insider

Only five women presented on stage at the major press events at E3, the video game industry's huge conference, which took place in LA this week. Sadly, that number won't be surprising to anyone familiar with sexism in the tech industry, and the particularly appalling way women are treated in the video game industry. But here's the really shocking part. E3 actually featured more severed heads on stage than women: eight heads.  No kidding. Someon ...

Why Nintendo Won E3 2014, Even Though No One Wins E3

Source: The Huffington Post: UK Edition

As our possibly slightly over-wrought splash this week should have made clear, I don't really think anyone 'wins' E3. That's not to say the world's biggest video games show is anything less than ruthlessly competitive -- but it's not a zero-sum, well, game. The more good titles there are, the better. The the more hype E3 generates, the longer we can luxuriate in its warm glow like a big, creamy, pre-rendered bath. (I like baths.) And when it comes to games I ...
