iPad mini Retina To Be featured in Apple Super Bowl Ad?
As reported there might be an Apple Super Bowl 2014 Ad. The ad would be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Apple's legendary Super Bowl 1984 ad that announced the Macintosh. Apple has released a Super Bowl ad in 2004 to celebrate the occasion. If Apple indeed is releasing a Super Bowl ad, what product would they promote? From all newly introduced devices the only one that did not get a TV ad yet is the iPad mini Retina.
Apple released already two iPad Air ads. There is an epic 90 second TV commercial for the iPad Air is based on real lifeuses of the iPad Air. A voiceover by Robin William recites classic poetry by Walt Whitman that fits the message of the empowering iPad Air. The first iPad Air ad is a typical Apple product ad.
Now that the iPad mini Retina is in solid supply, you would expect that Apple also promotes their new small iPad, but nothing yet. The iPad mini Retina is a hot tablet as it almost packs the same performance as the iPad Air and also has Retina resolution. It could be that Apple has a muchbigger margin on the iPad Air compared to the iPad mini Retina, which starts at $399. It could also be that Apple thinks it is enough to promote the flagship iPad as it pulls also the smaller one with it. I would think though that an iPad mini Retina ad would help market the small iPad against the cheaper competition in that segment.
