Kit was approved for production after being submitted by a fan
One of the best movies of the 80's was Ghostbusters. That movie is a comedy classic and LEGO has announced that it will be making an official kit for the Ecto-1 that fans of the film and the building blocks will be able to build. The kit will be made by the LEGO CUUSOO platform and was a fan made kit that received the 10,000 votes needed to be considered for production.
That kit has now been chosen to be produced. The Ecto-1 kit will include mini figures and is in the final design stages right now. There are no official pictures of the kit. There is also no work on how many pieces the kit will offer.
Pricing is also unknown. The person who built the fan made kit that grabbed the votes needed for production was Brent Waller. Waller is a video game artist form Australia. LEGO also created an official kit this same way for the Back to the Future DeLorean, Minecraft and others. There is no indication of when the official kit might lunch.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
