Rumors are swirling today that Microsoft may have finally found the person who will take over from Steve Ballmer when he leaves the company. The search for CEO candidates has ranged far and wide with lots of people tipped for the job. The latest rumblings claim that the next CEO may come from within Microsoft.
Microsoft's Satya Nadella, who is head of cloud and data center group at the software giant, is tipped to be the likely choice for CEO. I can't say that I have heard the man's name before now. Nadella has been at Microsoft for more than 20 years and is seen as a conservative choice for the company.
The man isn't seen as an agent of change by outsiders, but he would keep pushing the data center-focused cloud path Microsoft is on according to Bloomberg. Nadella also isn’t expected to make any drastic changes with consumer products either.
Bloomberg says that the length of time it took to find a CEO candidate shows that the board was unimpressed with internal candidates and decided to look elsewhere. When that look outside the company didn’t pan out, Microsoft came back to internal candidates. Word that the company might be looking to replace Bill Gates as chairman has also surfaced. No official word on who the next Microsoft CEO will be has been offered.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
