How to Watch Sochi Olympics 2014 Online, Mobile and on TV

The Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 are officially starting today with the opening ceremony. The competitions at the Sochi Olympics already on Thursday. The first gold medal will be up for grabs on Saturday. 2,500 athletes from 86 countries compete for the medals in 98 competitions.  The first event will be Slop Style for Snowboarders. There will be 2 weeks of winter competitions. To follow all the events you have to look for NBC. The network is the official TV station to broadcast the Sochi Olympics in the United States.

NBC will kick off the Olympics coverage tonight at 7:30/6:30c with a Bob Costas interview of the President following the Opening Ceremony for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Why do we have to sit through a President interview ahead of each big sports event? I have no clue.

It is worth noting that the Opening Ceremony is already taking place 11am ET. NBC is holding back the coverage for primetime.

Besides on NBC TV channel you can watch also the NBC Sports Network channel. Also some Olympics coverage will also be on CNBC, MSNBC and USA Network.

To watch the Olympics online you need to visit NBCOlympics.com.

To watch on your mobile devices you need the NBC Live Extra Mobile App for iPhone, iPad and Android. You can download the free app on iTunes for Apple devices. For Android get the app on Google Play here. The vast majority of the live streaming content on NBC Sports Live Extra apps will only be available to authenticated cable, satellite and telco customers via TV Everywhere.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
