Bundle will hit this spring for $199
Sony has been peddling its portable game console the PS Vita for a few years now. The console never enjoyed particularly robust sales. Many mobile gamers today get their gaming fix on the go with a smartphone or tablet.
Sales of the PS Vita did pick up along with the PS4 launch thanks to the remote play capability of the portable console and a price cut for the PS Vita. Sony announced a slim version of the PS Vita earlier this month.
The electronics giant has now announced a new bundle including the new slim PS Vita and a rough launch date for the device. The bundle is the Borderlands 2 Limited Edition PlayStation Vita Bundle. The bundle will land in the US this spring, which is a rather vague launch window.
Presumably, Sony will give us a firmer launch date in the future. The bundle will include a slim PS Vita in black, the Borderlands 2 video game, six DLC content packs, and an 8GB memory card. The console bundle will sell for $199.99.
The new slim PS Vita is 20% thinner and 15% lighter than the original portable device. It also has 1GB of internal memory and a 5-inch touchscreen on the front. The new thinner console also has improved battery life. Sony says it is good for about another hour of gaming per charge than the original console.
The DLC content with the game includes Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Psycho Character Class, Mechromancer Character Class, Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 and the Collector’s Edition Pack.
