Xbox One sales fall as PS4 becomes the most favored for the new game releases
It was only for a short while that Microsoft enjoyed the leading position in the US next gen console sales and this little victory was rather short lived and this bad news came with the month of January. During this month, the sales for the PS4 outnumbered the Xbox One and NPD has only given away the estimates; the exact figures are not being provided by neither the NPD nor Sony. To get an idea of how large the pS4 sales were, Sony Senior VP Guy Longworth made a useful statement reporting that the sales of Sony were twice as high as Microsoft. PS4 being the platform of choice for five of the top 10 games explains the situation to a great deal and no one has to wonder why this the quarter kicked off this way.

Neither Sony nor Microsoft is giving away any figures but we have heard through NPD that system was the runner-up in hardware sales and the company can still get loads from the brand image of Xbox One. 47 percent of game sales were represented by the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 and surprisingly enough, the Xbox 360 was the ultimate choice of gamers for five of the top 10 software releases.
Nitendo on the other hand is doing pretty well as well and its 3DS and Wii U sales have shown a year to year increase.
