The famous actress and singer Bette Midler is going to perform at the Oscars this year. The Academy Awards show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced on Wednesday that Bette Midler will sing for the first time at the Oscars.

“We are thrilled to have Bette perform on the Oscars for the very first time,” said Zadan and Meron. “We believe she will make our Oscar telecast an especially moving evening.”
Bette Midler also responded on her twitter account. She confirmed that she will sing at the Oscars. But she did not reveal the song she is going to sing at this year's Academy Awards.
Bette Midler had been nominated for the Oscars twice. Midler was nominated as an actress in a Leading Role. She received best actress Oscar nominations for her films “The Rose” in 1979 and “For the Boys” in 1991. Bette Midler has also won multiple Grammy Awards.
Midler is a fabulous singer who has recorded 13 studio albums until now. Her debut album “The Divine Miss M” was released in 1972. Over a million copies of this album got sold back then. Bette Midler won her first Grammy for Best New Artist for that album.
Bette Midler has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. She has won two additional Grammy awards. One is the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance Grammy award for the song “The Rose” and another Grammy Record of the Year award for “Wind Beneath My Wings”.
The star singer has won 3 Emmy Awards. She was also honored with a special Tony Award in 1974 for her contribution to that year’s Broadway season. Her acting skills are very proficient. She has played many good roles till now including “The First Wives Club,” “Down and Out in Beverly Hills” and “Ruthless People.”
The Oscars Awards ceremony for outstanding film achievements of 2013 will be presented at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday, the 2nd of March, 2014. Ellen DeGeneres will host the Academy Awards while Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are the producers of the show. The Oscar will air live on the ABC Television Network. The Academy Awards will also be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
