If you are one of the gamers who has a Nintendo Wii U and happens to like the Donkey Kong franchise, tomorrow is a big day for you. Nintendo has announced that February 21 is the launch day for the Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze video game to hit store shelves. The game has several playable characters and supports local multiple player play.
Playable characters include Donkey Kong, Dixie Kong, Funky Kong, and Cranky Kong. This is the first time in the franchise that Cranky Kong has been a playable character.
“The games in the Donkey Kong Country series have always entertained audiences of all ages and skill levels with their breathtaking visuals and fun and challenging game play,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze continues this rich legacy with a memorable adventure that’s only available on Wii U.”
The game will see players fighting off the Snowmads that are invading the tropical home of the Kongs. Players will fight through multiple levels on different islands. The game also has a dynamic camera that makes game play fun.
When playing in local multiplayer mode, the player plays as Donkey Kong with the other player choosing form one of the other playable characters. The game will be available in retail stores and on the Nintendo eShop for $49.99.
