It’s been a year since Alec Baldwin starred in a show. Now, he is all set to feature in the Mariska Hargitay directorial debut. NBC Law & Order: SVU will have Alec as the main man in it.

The top clique of detectives will be having an additional member joining them soon. This is none other than Alec Baldwin. Last time Alec acted it was in 30 Rock and that was almost a year back. He was involved in a scandal due to a series of controversial statements he made about gays.

While the whole shebang is being kept a secret some details have come to the light of day. One is that the show will go on air in the spring season. And this is the first time that Alec is acting in Mariska Hargitay’s directorial debut.

Mariska has another costar in the form of Ice-T. Ice-T spoke of how he had done several films and shows before. Mariska Hargitay is to star in the show in the capacity of Sergeant Olivia Benson.

Ice-T wished her good luck in her show. He said that the fact that she was going to have Alec Baldwin in a shot said it all. He furthermore spoke of how he was going to follow orders despite his image of being a rebel.

Hargitay meanwhile is very excited and happy to appear in the show. She said that this was something she had always wanted to do. It was something for which she had manipulated many. And finally she also spoke of how she felt more joyful once she was on the set of SVU.

She got to reach the core of her being via acting. It was there somewhere in the works and now it was for real. It seemed that it was a natural linear function that got fulfilled via both Mariska Hargitay’s passion and Alec Baldwin’s acting chops.
