Lisa Kudrow legal battle with former manager heads back to court

Lisa Kudrow was a household name with the smash hit TV series Friends. Kudrow was on the series for ten years and her manager claims he is owned 5% of what she made during his time as her manager. The former manager is Scott Howard and he was with Kudrow from 1991 until 2007.

Howard sued Kudrow in 2008 and the case has been in court ever since. During the court case, the amount of money that Kudrow made for each episode of the series came out. When Kudrow started on the sitcom, she was making $13,500 per episode reports Hollywood Insider.

Over the years and five contract negotiations, her salary ramped up to a whopping $1,040,000 per episode by 2000. She was also granted $5 million in back end compensational and she continues to receive residuals from the show. Friends ran from 1994 to 2004.

The manger alleges that Kudrow had orally agreed to pay him a commission on all revenue that she obtained during their business relationship, even when that relationship ended. Kudrow says that she had told her former manager she would only pay him on the first round of residuals and not beyond that. There is about $8 million at stake in this case. Howard maintains that it is customary for managers to get commission even after terminated, Kudrow disputes that claim. Howard made more than $11 million in commissions during his time with Kudrow.
