So the next Samsung flagship wasn’t able to stay in the dark for long after all and we only had to wait a few hours before the phone’s announcement at MWC event 2014 but the leaks couldn’t hold back. We finally have some leaked images of the Galaxy S5 and the first thing we notice is the plastic built of the phone with a patterned back cover. This detail comes as a bit of a disappointment to many because we were hoping for an executive looking faux leather finish which was featured on the Note 3. But the dotted back is expected to keep off the fingerprints and we are hoping that this is really the true story behind it.
The previous leaks didn’t quite clearly show the screen size but now that we have a clearer view we can tell that it is larger than what we had on the S4 but it is still smaller than the Note 3. This leaves us with an option of 5.25” measured diagonally as it falls in between these two devices. The overall design is somewhat similar to the Note 3 and it can rightly be tagged as the smaller version of the phablet.
Let us talk about the most anticipated of all features on the phone. The fingerprint sensor has finally been confirmed through this leaked image and is spotted on the Home button. This might seem similar to what we saw on Apple’s 5s but in reality these will be poles apart because the one featured on the S5 will require the user to swipe the finger over the sensor as opposed to the requirement of reading the biometric impression. And this is not the only sensor we are talking about. The phone wil also carry a sensor for the heart rate. Other rumors regarding the phone being dust and water resistant have also been confirmed and it carries the IP67 standard certification. The phone can surprisingly be submerged in water level of up to 1 meter for 3o minutes.
