Facebook shutting down its three year old email service

Right now Facebook wants to focus more on improving the mobile messenger experience for customers

It has almost been three years since Facebook launched the email service and it’s already being shut down. This outcome was quite obvious and the decision to turn this service down does not take any off use by surprise. To begin with, the service never really got the expected amount of fame and quite honestly speaking, there was not a lot of user base for it.

Most of the focus was directed towards the Messenger service and in between this the email service was highly ignored and wasn’t even updated on a regular basis. The news is official and the shutting down of the service is confirmed since the Facebook Mail users have been getting messages and are being notified that the service is being shut down hence their mails are being forwarded to their respective primary email addresses. This step will pose a huge threat and will be a great opportunity for spammers.

Since a lot of people are more inclined towards using the messengers, Facebook wants to focus more on improving the mobile messaging experience for its users.
