Xbox One price slashed for UK gamers only 94 days after launch
The Xbox One has been selling pretty well in the US and other parts of the world. However, the PS4 has been selling better. That isn't something that Microsoft is used to seeing, its Xbox 360 usually outsold the PS3.

Being second to Sony in sales of current game consoles is something that doesn't sit well with Microsoft. Add in the fact that some developers have stepped up and said the PS4 is a better console and the fact that the PS4 is $100 cheaper than the Xbox One and the PS4 sales lead makes sense.
Microsoft is challenging that sales lead in the UK by slashing the price of the Xbox One in that market. For now, only prices in the UK have been reduced. The price cut knocks £30 of the cost of the console bringing the sales price to £399.
I wonder if we will see a corresponding $50 price cut in the US in the days to come. If we did, the PS4 would still be cheaper and arguably a better console. Microsoft also wants people to know that the price cut, only 94 days into the life of the Xbox One doesn't mean it isn't selling well.
When asked that question GameSpot reports Harvey Eagle said, "No, I don't think so. For us, this is about giving UK gamers the best value that we can." Microsoft can say what they want, but when a product is selling well or as good as you want it to, you don’t have to cut prices.
