A recent tweet from the creator of Minecraft hinted towards a movie being on the way

All Minecraft fans should brace themselves for the biggest news of their lifetimes as Deadline reports that Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to make a major motion picture out of the indie phenomenon Minecraft and this is the biggest new flash of all times for the Minecraft fans.

The fame of this franchise has already attracted the attention of many filmmakers and even writers and it seems like Warner Bros. got the hit on the deal and now with their rights they can add this phenomenon new piece to their vast portfolio. For this Minecraft project, the studio has decided to grant the production charge to Roy Lee who will prove perfect for this job since he did a remarkable job with the The Lego Movie, undoubtedly a big hit in the box office.

Markus "Notch" Persson, the mastermind and creator behind the Minecraft is not making any attempts to keep the news in the shadows and he recently tweeted that he wants to throw out a leak and hinted towards a possibility of a movie in the makes. So we know that nothing has officially been confirmed as yet but since we have found smoke, there certainly must be fire.
