Lena Headey Inadvertently Harmed Colleagues

She is one tough female and vow to any male who tries to take her on in the fine art of fighting. Lena Headey spoke to Access Hollywood recently regarding the awkward moments she had while mock fighting on set.

According to the versatile and beautiful actress, she was given a set of sticks and told to practice hitting with them. If she passed she would go on to fighting with a plastic sword. The female thespian admitted that though she reached the plastic stage, she also hit some of the males in the gonads.

Thus she was demoted to fighting with sticks. In the sequel to the original “300film, Lena plays Gorgo, a sword-wielding lioness. And her co-star Eva Green portrays Artemisia, who is the evil princess of Persia. Both are strong female characters that don’t bow down before their male counterparts so easily.

Lena and Eva Green have great chemistry on-screen and off-screen. Especially Lena holds Eva in great regard as a competent female actress. Although in the movie, they play rivals, in real life this is hardly the case.

But, as mentioned previously, they are both strong Amazons of sorts. That is why recently when Gene Simmons of erstwhile band Kiss approached Lena he got quite a rebuff. Gene, who is an obnoxious and loudmouthed braggart tried to get cozy with Lena but the strategy backfired.

This is the man who is reported to have slept around with more than 4000 different women. He came within her personal circle while she was giving an interview. Gene tried his best to catch her eye by saying that his son wanted to see her and then made a stupid quip too.

But all his efforts failed desperately as she carried on answering questions like nothing had happened. The rock star was left in somewhat of a lurch by this cold shoulder treatment.

The Purge Anarchy: Will You Be Purging Tonight?

Source: movie pilot

How excited were you to see The Purge last summer? I was so excited that I couldn't see straight. Ethan Hawke was still riding high on the Sinister train, Lena Headey had won over our black hearts with her amazing performance in Dredd and the entire concept of a yearly purge was genius. So, what happened? I can only speak for myself when I say that I was severely disappointed. There were a few good moments, but it felt more like an ...

FIRST LOOK: Offical trailer for Brad Pitt's 'Fury' has dropped

Source: movie pilot

If you haven't heard by now (Okay, but seriously, there's this thing called Google...) Brad Pitt is continuing his recent tradition of killin' Nazis and being super-intense while covered in grime in David Ayer's upcoming WWII drama Fury. After the news that the film would be undergoing reshoots next month, with casting for two SS officers also on the table, it made me wonder if we'd see a trailer for the film any time soon. But no fear! T ...

300 Rise of an Empire DVD Review: Bring the Battle Home!

Source: movie fanatic

In 2007 the film 300 became an unexpected phenomenon and now a follow-up has arrived in 300: Rise of an Empire that is not quite sequel, more a companion piece. The events of 300: Rise of an Empire take place practically concurrently with those in 300 and it shows the effect news of the loss of “the 300” has had on the rest of the Greek nation states who are trying to hold off an advancing Persian army. 300: Rise of an Empire has landed on DVD ...

Emmy Nomination Contenders - Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

Anna Gunn has 'Ozymandias,' but who will compete with her?Like "Breaking Bad" itself, Anna Gunn arrived on the Emmy podium a year ahead of schedule last September. It's not that I didn't think Gunn deserved to win last year, but I figured she had one year of being deserving-but-snubbed and then she'd take advantage of this year's seemingly inevitable "Breaking Bad" sweep. With Gunn alread ...

HBO: Why 'Game of Thrones' gets robbed at Emmys

Source: Oh No They Didn't!

We asked HBO’s programming president Michael Lombardo about this topic during a Thrones interview, and he suggested the show’s fantasy setting and high production values might distract from the talent on display. “What frustrates me about the show is people really love and connect with the characters — but somehow, [the voters] don’t put two and two together that there are great actors embodying those roles,” Lombardo says. “There seems to b ...
