Gambler Sues Casino: Why A Drunk Gambler Sues Casino?

A totally drunk gambler sues a Las Vegas casino over money loss. Mark Johnston was pickled when he lost over $500,000 at the Downtown Grand casino in Las Vegas. The man was a habitual gambler. But this time around he arrived in Sin City in a drunken state. Later on he had a few drinks over dinner with his friends.

Then he was served drinks while he played blackjack and another game named pai gow at the casino. He slurred and through blurred double vision somehow managed to gamble away a fortune while stoned on alcohol.

The mistake the gambling den owners made was to serve him alcohol despite his state of being high on liquor. And all this took place over the Super Bowl weekend.

When gambler Johnston came to his senses later on he realized what a terrible mistake he had made. In his sobriety he decided that he had to sue the hell out of the Downtown Grand casino.

Meanwhile, the top brass at the Downtown Grand is not about to lose the battle just yet. They believe that it was basically Johnston’s fault. And they are going to fight it out in the court. Both sides are armed with their respective points of view.

But, hard as it may be to believe, the law may be on Johnston’s side. There is a strict rule according to which no intoxicating drinks may be served to those gamblers who are already woozy from alcohol.

That’s the law in Nevada and as they say: the law is the law. There are no two ways about it. Besides, there were many eyewitnesses and camera footage to boot regarding Johnston’s boozed up state in the gambling arena

These pieces of evidence may tilt the decision in his favor. Johnston has gone on record to say that he felt like he had encountered a group of pickpockets.

While Johnston may win the litigious encounter, he may not be welcome in Las Vegas later on. The fact that he may sue anytime again in the future is a danger signal for casinos in the capital of Nevada.
