The plane crashed somewhere between Malaysia and China. But the Malaysia Airlines plane crash mystery remains unsolved.

The search for the wreckage of the Malaysia Airlines plane that disappeared into the South China Sea has proven to be difficult up until now. The only clues as to the flight were a door and what appeared to be a part of a wing.

Flight MH370 lost contact with ground control and simply vanished from the air without any trace. Over 239 people were aboard that plane and two-thirds of them were Chinese. Teams have been sent to salvage what remains of the debris.

Yet the mystery is that not much remains of the plane. Although Vietnamese navy planes gave reports regarding certain missing parts of the plane floating in the sea off the coast, later on the teams found no such parts.

It’s been two days since the mishap and no parts have been found so far. Tests from an oil spill in the area are due to come in too. They will prove whether the oil is from the plane’s fuselage or not.

Over six planes and seven ships are on the search mission for the plane. As to the causes of the plane’s disappearance, the conspiracy theories abound in vast quantities. Like the hubbub and fake accounts that proliferated in the days following the 9/11 terrorist attacks or Amelia Earhart’s plane disappearance, Flight MH370 too inspired so much that was overblown and simply not true.

However, the chances of a terrorist plot behind it all may not be that far from the truth. There has been talk of two passengers who used stolen passports to board the plane. The images of the two have been caught on CCTV.

They are an Austrian and an Italian. The chief of Interpol had a legitimate question which he put before the press. Why did all the countries of the world not do enough to stop terrorists in their homelands from using fake passports to board airplanes and thus put innocent lives in jeopardy?

It will take weeks and maybe even months before the remains of the airplane and its human casualties are retrieved from the South China Sea.
