Lindsay, the new reality show on the Oprah network premiered on Sunday. The reviews are rather negative, but the TV ratings are ok.
Oprah's move to give Lindsay Lohan a reality TV show looked like a rescue mission for the struggling actress. Will it save Lindsay Lohan's carrier? The Lindsay show did not tank in ratings, only the pundits are not excited about the Lindsay reality documentary.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the Lindsay Lohan show had 892,000 viewers during the premiere and an additional 504,000 in the encore. The show is bringing in a younger crowd, which was what OWN wanted. The premiere did not set any significant record, but the numbers are not bad either.
Things are different when reading the Lindsay reviews. The New York Times says the premiere of Lindsay is dull, endemic and tragic. The Guardian warns that Lohan and viewers might fail, depending on the next seven episodes. Variety says its boring, because the dramatic needs of reality TV and straightening out Lindsay Lohan's life are mutually exclusive.
