Diana Peloquin saw the way Arthur Chu played Jeopardy! with certain controversial tactics. She finally beat him using his own style as her weapon of choice.
Arthur Chu had been on a winning streak that had lasted for 11 episodes of Jeopardy! with Alec Trebek. But finally he was beat in his own backyard by a young lady who simply closely observed him and used his own methodology against him on the show.
According to Diana, it was really surreal. Her fellow law students shouted and applauded from the sidelines each time she got a question correct. Furthermore, Diana got the opportunity to see Chu play the game in his own way. This was valuable since it offered her clues as to how to really grab the money via choosing the right questions.
"I was really interested in his playing style," said Peloquin to MLive. "I wanted to engage with that. … And I had lots of time to study."
Diana took her time and studied Chu (who was a self-described mad genius and God knows how many other appellations). Chu was a person whom the crowd booed due to his rude manner and crafty techniques of dealing with the game.
However, Diana Peloquin never saw it like this. She actually admired Chu’s clever deconstruction and reconstruction of what came before him. So she decided to give it a go as well. And guess what? She won. And he lost.
Diana used the Daily Double as her launching pad on Jeopardy! Diana made an error once in a blue moon, but overall she made way for her final victory over Chu. It’s a good thing that after so long a new player has emerged on the scene.
And after seeing Chu rule the airwaves, Diana will be showing her magic to a crowd that includes her colleagues that are law students like her. She has yet to face the grand master of the game, who has earned millions of dollars via Jeopardy!
