Termed “Something Wicked”, the film portrays a couple who get involved in an accident on their honeymoon. They had married against their parents’ wishes. Past secrets in their individual lives then come back to haunt them and Brittany Murphy is the psychiatrist who tries to be their marriage therapist. She is shown in a very chilling scene in the movie.
Brittany’s tragic death was followed four months later by her husband’s death in similar circumstances. This provoked her father to make a statement to the effect that she had been poisoned. The law enforcement authorities after considerable probing dismissed this allegation.
The versatile actress was 32 years of age when she passed away. A last vision of her in the form of the posthumous movie is something her fans are eagerly looking forward to. The film got shot in 2009 and it will debut on April 4th in Oregon. From there it will spread to the rest of the theaters in the country.
"It is an additional responsibility, you do want her performance to be the best it can be, because unfortunately it's her last performance. The first months of reviewing the footage and starting to put things together and then seeing her and hearing her voice, it's very emotional," writer and producer Joe Colleran told the Daily News.
Brittany worked really hard to make the scenes in the seductive thriller as realistic and surreal as possible. She undertook method acting to get the shots just right. Her efforts remind one of the painstaking, back-breaking steps taken by Heath Ledger and Paul Walker in their own days before their tragic deaths.
There have been conspiracy theories regarding some form of toxic mold being responsible for Brittany and her husband’s death in their home. Whatever the truth, she is with us no longer and all we can do is pray for her soul and also watch her last movie which will remind us of what a wonderful thespian she was.
