Zoe Saldana to Star in NBC miniseries Rosemary's Baby
If you are a fan of old horror films, you might be familiar with the flick Rosemary's Baby form 1968. That original film stars Mia Farrow and was based on a bestselling novel published in 1967 of the same name. The flick was directed by Roman Polanski.
The movie is being remade as a miniseries by NBC and the woman who will play the lead in the show is Zoë Saldana reports NY Daily News. Saldana is a well know actor that has starred in some big budget films over the last few years. The biggest of the films she stared in is the new Star Trek remakes.
Her big break came in the 2000 film Center Stage. A marketing campaign for the remake is set to start soon. You can expect a shot of Saldana looking pregnant standing in front of an old-fashioned baby carriage to be seen in a lot of places.
While the original movie was filmed in New York, the NBC remake will be filmed entirely in Paris. The core of the story is that the woman in the show is unknowingly pregnant with the antichrist. Other stars tied to the remake include Patrick J. Adams, Jason Isaacs and Carole Bouquet. The miniseries will air in May. At least we have something interesting to look forward to on TV during the off-season lull in programming. Saldana is a busy woman. I am most looking forward to seeing her in the next Star Trek installment.
