Sony has announced a new system update for the PS Vita portable game console. The update brings the portable to version 3.10 and adds in several new features. Some of the features are things that owners of the Vita have been waiting for a long time to see.
One of the big updates is that the home screen now supports more than 100 apps. Users can get up to 500 apps on the home screen after the update is applied. Another new feature is a Calendar application. The new calendar app can be synced with your friends and supports synchronization with Google Calendars.
That means you can keep the Vita synced up with your online calendar so you can remember your appointments. The feature that Vita owners will leak the best is the new Manage Content on Memory Card option. This feature lets the user view content on their installed memory card by category and delete content from the list.
Voice Messages are now supported on the device via the messages application. Users will be able to leave voice messages for PS4 and other PS Vita players using this feature. The update is live and available for download right now. It's nice to see Sony still working on updates for the Vita despite its slow sales and lack of popularity compared to other platforms. There are other things added in the update that you can see on the update page.
