Turns out, Samsung is already heading towards creating an alternative version of the Galaxy S5, even before the S5 has been released.
The recent reports about the Samsung Galaxy series mention that the company is working on the potentially new model of the S5, the SM-G870 model. The phone will be known as the Galaxy S5 Active. Prior to this rumor, the release of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is to be materialized soon as the phone was officially announced at MWC held in Barcelona in February.
The Galaxy S5 Active will include top of the class hardware to facilitate durability. It is said to be both dust and water proof making many people contemplate that it is perhaps retired. These rumors can be attributed to @evleaks and if they are indeed true then an Active version of the Galaxy phone will be available after all.
It may be the case that Samsung has upgraded the water resistance along with the addition of military certification including the impact resistance or MIL-STD-810G certification. This included resistance against humidity, rain, salt, vibration, dust and solar radiation. Evleaks has further claimed the Galaxy S5 Active will be launched on both AT&T and Sprint.
