Samsung has just come up with its own LED bulb known as the “Smart Bulb”.
LG has been successful in launching an LED bulb and now Samsung is on its way to create a prototype of an LED Bulb. The bulb will be called “Smart Bulb” and will retain a Bluetooth only technology, as opposed to LG’s Wi-Fi based Bluetooth Smart lamp. This allows one direct power over maneuvering around 64 bulbs through a smartphone app. This is parallel to the Lumen bulb and its functionality.
In order to allow home automation to take place, a Zigzee Bluetooth hub will be required however there is no official news to indicate that this will be included. The Smart bulb will be able to dim down to 10% battery power and include color ranges between both cool white as well as warm. This signifies an evolution from the previous disco like color range of Lumen and Philips LED bulbs.
The price of the Smart Bulb has not been specified yet however Samsung had claimed that under mean usage, the device is expected to last for 15,000 hours. If the Smart Bulb’s price is comparable to the LG’s Bulb which costs $32, then it may serve as a good competitor.
