Land Rover is on cloud nine. The company known for its innovative and trendily stylish vehicles is definitely going places. Its latest transparent bonnet is the “in” thing right now.
This Transparent Bonnet virtual imaging concept allows the person maneuvering the vehicle to see with crystal clarity ahead of him or her. What exists beneath and in front of the car is visible to the furthest extent thanks to this novel technology.
A digital image of the landscape that lies ahead and underneath is possible due to this intricate and clever wizardry. It is part and parcel of Land Rover’s Discovery Vision Concept. And the nascent piece of work will get displayed at the New York International Motor Show.
"As our vehicles become more capable and autonomous off-road, we will ensure the driver has the confidence to allow the car to continue to progress, over any terrain. We are developing new technologies including the Transparent Bonnet to give drivers an augmented view of reality to help them tackle anything from the toughest off-road route to the tight confines of an urban car park."
Actually, the invisibility of the equipment in front of the car and the transparency of the bonnet are due to cameras that are fitted into the structure of the device. They take pictures of the terrain ahead and transmit it to the driver so that what lies before the controlling authority is an open view.
This paves the way for visual supplementation via high tech methodologies. This thoroughly advanced technique is to take Land Rover’s name forward into the realm of futuristic vehicles. The next generation is crucial for some pretty serious avant-garde experimentation at the company’s premises.
The whole contraption is so sophisticated that it almost appears to be indistinguishable from magic. Furthermore, it will aid in matters of protection and security.
Whatever the landscape, Land Rover’s mindscape that accompanies it in the form of visual assistance technology will surely lead to a safer and more enjoyable driving experience for future car lovers. And it all boils down to the techno-vision of a few bold geniuses who themselves stood on the shoulders of giants.
