Leonardo DiCaprio isn’t dead despite online rumors
It seems like there are constantly rumors going around that one actor or another has died in some accident. We heard not long ago that Dwayne Johnson had died on the set of a movie, which was false. The latest celebrity deathhoax making the rounds focuses on Leonardo DiCaprio.
A rumor was making the rounds this week that DiCaprio had died in a snowboarding accident in Switzerland. According to the rumor, the actor died after losing control of a snowboard at the luxury Zermatt ski resort.
The rumor went on to claim that DiCaprio had been rushed to the hospital by air, but died from his injuries reports Hindusian Times.
Apparently, the story originated with a site called Media Fetcher where anyone can make fake media stories. This is apparently the second time that DiCaprio has been targeted by this sort of hoax. Last time the actor's rep stepped in and said he was alive and well.
The hoax was easy to believe for some because it sounds very much, like what happened to F1 driver Michael Schumacher when he had a skiing accident. Schumacher is still in the hospital and the odds of a full recovery at this point are very slim.
Neither DiCaprio or his rep have stepped up and said he is still alive at this time. His reps reportedly "laughed off" the hoax this time around and didn’t bother releasing a statement.
