Valerie Harper is not free from cancer

Since the suspicion for cancer arose for Valerie Harper, there had been numerous reports about her and some recent ones even claimed that she no longer has cancer. However that is not the authentic side of the story and the newest report tells us that Valerie Harper is not free from cancer after all. Despite all this, the actress hasnt stopped living life to the fullest and right after her diagnosis, she appeared on the famous Dancing With the Stars and will appear on two episodes of Hallmark Channel's new original series Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

Though the TV icon clearly stated in Closer Weekly that she was free from the disease but only recently she posed some concern regarding her health when she made a statement via Hallmark Channel saying that "I am not 'absolutely cancer-free. I wish I were. Right now what I am is cautiously optimistic about my present condition and I have hope for the future."

The Mary Tyler Moore Show actress first broke the news to the world in March last year and stated that she was diagnosed of terminal brain cancer and her doctors had only given her three months to live. This didnt come as a surprise to the non smoker actress who was previously also diagnosed with lung cancer March 2009. She fell ill once again when she was making the promotional rounds for her memoir, I, Rhoda, in January 2013. After doctors ran a couple of tests on her, it was revealed that she had leptomeningeal carcinomatosis which in simpler terms can be described as the rare disorder in which cancer cells metastasize into the fluid-filled membrane enveloping the brain.
