Miss America, Nina Davuluri defends prom teen. Nina has decided to stick up for a boy who asked her to the high school prom. He had been given a three day suspension by the educational institute authorities and Davuluri has asked them to reconsider their decision.
He had been a prankster from day one. Patrick Farves had the guts to go up to Miss America, Nina Davuluri when she visited her high school, and ask her to be his prom date. While she thought it was cute and laughed at his daring behavior, the school authorities were not exactly amused by the wisecrack. They decided to suspend him for three days from campus.

He had been warned previously and he had transgressed his limitations. So punishment seemed the right thing at the moment. But Nina Davuluri has expressed concern over this matter the moment she got to know about it. She has asked the high school administration to reconsider its suspension of Patrick Farves for the harmless prank he played during assembly time.
Miss America 2014, Nina Davuluri, shares the following message on her Facebook timeline:
"On Thursday, a student invited me to prom and gave me a flower while I was giving a presentation in York, Pennsylvania. I was flattered by the gesture although I am unfortunately unable to attend due to my travel schedule. I later learned of the disciplinary action taken and reached out to the school in hopes that they will reconsider their decision."
"Meeting and interacting with students across the country has been an important and rewarding part of my year as Miss America. I always encourage students to follow their dreams through education, and I'm inspired daily by the enthusiasm and aspirations of the bright young adults I have the pleasure of meeting through my travels."
Nina Davuluri is currently using up those air miles and visiting every site and campus on American soil. She is promoting worthy causes especially universal education. When she went to the White House she didn’t know what to say to Michele Obama and got virtually tongue-tied. But her spell was broken by Obama himself when he asked her matter-of-factly that he had heard that she had gotten some kid suspended.
Nina felt sorry for this negative event that had occurred apparently due to her influence. She wants to right the wrong that has been inadvertently done. So she has reached out from her Facebook home page and requested the high school authorities in very sincere words not to suspend Farves.
Farves meanwhile said that he got harsh treatment from his mom due to the stupid act of his that got him in trouble. He says that he is not sure if he will ever be able to ask any girl to be his prom date after this trauma. In fact he is not even certain if he will be able to get a prom date after what happened.
