Richard Gere spent 11 years with his wife Carey Lowell. The couple also has a 14 year old son Homer. But they got separated in September 2013. Currently, the 64 year old actor is in the middle of his divorce from Carey. But he didn’t even wait for the process to reach its logical conclusion. A current report from Us Weekly confirmed that Richard Gere is dating 43 year old Padma Lakshmi these days.

"It started very recently and quietly," a source tells USWeekly . "It's very new. I wouldn't even go as far as calling them a couple. They are dating. It's the first time Padma has dated anyone since Teddy [Forstmann], and it's something she's been approaching very, very delicately. They just getting to know each other. They're just having fun."

Padma Lakshmi is the host of the cooking show Top Chef and also a cook-book author. She is an Indian born. She married Salman Rushdie in 2004. But she got a divorce after three years in 2007. Then she started dating billionaire Teddy Forstmann who died in 2011 at the age of 71. After that, Padma Lakshmi got involved with venture capitalist Adam Dell. She also has a three year old daughter Krishna from her marriage with Adam.

Richard Gere was also married to Cindy Crawford before Carey Lowell. Richard and Cindy's marriage lasted only four years. The couple divorced in 1995. Richard Gere is currently working on the movie Time Out of Mind.
