The Goonies 2 is most likely to retain older cast from the original movie

The Goonies 2 is now coming to mark the sequel of the infamous Goonies movie and the movie's director Richard Donner has stated that they are going to be doing a sequel to the original Goonies and that everyone is hoping that the original cast members will return for the The Goonies 2. Fans of this 1980′s classic film have been worried with this recent announcement because they wont be looking forward to the same level of fun when the original faces would be missing from the movie. However, the good news is that the story will be fabricated by the original writer, producer, and second unit director Steven Spielberg.

Initially, Donner was not so sure about The Goonies 2 and he was avoiding talking on the subject and sometimes even clearly diverted away from the subject only saying that he would have to ask Steven. But only a while later the news was dropped that Steven has come up with the idea of having The Goonies 2.

“Hopefully we’re going to get this done, period. Spielberg came up with the idea of doing a sequel after 30 years,” Donner reveals “You don’t do it without him, and he came up with another storyline and he’s right on.”

In the last attempt on the script, there was a new group of kids who would represent the daughters and sons of the original Goonies gang and this time they would go on some new adventure. Good news is that the original cast members have shown interest in working for the sequel of the original Goonies.
