Lupita has won accolades that have made her a very lucky individual indeed. Lupita Nyong’o not only received an Oscar for her role as the Best Supporting Actress in 12 Years a Slave, she also gained the prestigious position of being brand ambassador for Lancome.
But the really miraculous thing that gave Lupita a fillip was getting chosen as the most beautiful person of 2014 by People magazine. This simply made her swoon. According to Lupita, she had always been teased and bullied regarding her black skin and felt bad about the put down remarks.
Yet this newfound fame and title of beauty has rejuvenated her and she finally gets to feel really good about herself deep down inside. "It was exciting and just a major, major compliment," the 31-year-old says of gracing this year's cover. And especially, "I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen."

The Kenyan-Mexican Lupita was always supported by her mother who told her that she was beautiful in every way. Today she is thankful to her mama for being there for her and bucking her up in her journey to stardom.
Lupita Nyong’o says the best compliments are "when I have been called beautiful with not one drop of makeup on," she adds. "And also before I comb my hair or put on a pretty dress. Happiness is the most important thing."
Meanwhile, Lupita has more than just fancy titles in her future. She is about to appear in The Jungle Book which is an adaptation screen play of the book by Rudyard Kipling. Jon Favreau is to take on board Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyong’o in the exciting project.
Lupita is to play the role of Mowgli’s wolf mother. And Scarlett Johansson will be Kaa the python. There will be other characters such as Shere Khan the tiger which will be played by Idris Elba. As for Mowgli’s character, its slot is yet to be filled by some lucky actor.
Lupita is also slated to appear in the Star Wars Series. With so many roles in so many avenues of life, Lupita is a fearless and fantastic figure of freedom and has a fighting spirit to boot. She is proof that anything can be accomplished provided one puts one’s mind to the task at hand.
