Yelp users can now check if a business is accepting Bitcoins.
Yelp is now listing businesses that accept Bitcoin. Apparently, the popular business review website is acknowledging the potential of the cryptocurrency.
Yelp users can now check if a particular business is accepting Bitcoin for payments.
Citing an example, Yelp mentioned "Little Lucy’s Mini Donuts," a donut shop in Austin Texas. When you check out its business profile on Yelp, you will see the new attribute: “Accepts Bitcoin." In this case, the donut shop is accepting Bitcoin as hinted by the word "Yes."
For business owners, they can add the new attribute by updating their settings via the business owner tools on biz.yelp.com.
"We’re constantly thinking about how to make our business attributes more useful for consumers and businesses," writes Justin O. on Yelp's official blog. "We’re hopeful the introduction of the Bitcoin attribute will provide yet another way for consumers to connect with great local businesses."
In spite of the controversies, Bitcoin is becoming more popular these days. Bitcoin has its advantages. It's not influenced by financial entities, and transactions are one-way, meaning you don't have to worry about chargebacks.
But, unfortunately, the digital currency can be hacked.
