You can order the phone online from Friday or wait till it hits the retail stores on 9th May

A recent event in New York revealed the special edition One (M8)Harman/Kardon in a joint effort by Sprint and HTC. This new premium audio-centric smartphone had been leaked earlier on as well but now it officially gets unveiled and we now know that the phone will exclusively be available for purchase from Sprint Wireless in the US. The phone will be offered in two color schemes of black and gold. Many of us might be wondering what distinct feature makes it a ‘special’ edition. Well, it is primarily because of the enhanced audio experience since the phone is going to feature lossless HD audio via a 24 bit/192kHz DAC. This distinct feature of the phone delivers roughly six times the information of compact disc music and 60 times the information of an MP3 or streaming music source when playing FLAC files.

The Harman Clari-Fi application is going to be housed inside the phone and it will be shipped along with it. The application is being available on a mobile device for the very first time and it serves the function of rebuilding a track’s audio quality which was lost during its compression. The rest of the features of the phone are similar to the original M8 and there are no major changes in specs.

This Harman/Kardon edition will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC with 2.3GHz quad-core CPU and it will sport a 5 inch display with a 1080P resolution. There is an Ultra Pixel camera, and Sense-d Android 4.4.2 KitKat inside the phone. The colors of this handset are not the only attractive thing here; the handsets will ship along with Harman/Kardon AE-S headphones in the box and purchasing the phone will be a good idea since these customers can snag a Harman/Kardon Onyx Studio speaker for $99.99, down from its regular price of $399.99. You can prepare yourself to order this phone online from Friday onwards and for those who want to wait till they can go to the retail stores will have to wait for the 9th of May. The smartphone can be purchased with $0 down and 24 payments of $28.34 (a total of $680.16).
