It seems like having mini versions for the already launched flagship handsets is a new trend and one which has been accepted by the consumers. The Samsung Galaxy S5 was also believed to have a mini version and the rumors had been going on since even before the phone launched. The SM-G800 model number for this mini version has also been revealed on the internet for quite some time now. However, this time the news is official as it comes from Samsung’s official web site (the Finnish portal in particular).
Don’t get your hopes up too high because this website is merely a placeholder for the time being and no other information has been added. The phone’s specs have also been revealed and from what we have heard, the mini S5 will feature a 4.5” 720p screen and will be powered by the Snapdragon 400 chipset. Considering it’s a mini version, the main camera at 8 MP is also pretty impressive. Just like the original Galaxy S5, this mini variant is also going to feature water-resistant with an IP67 rating.
Well, it’s not just the mini variant which we should be looking forward to. There is another version in the works too and this one is an SM-G750 which is the Galaxy S5 Neo moniker. However this the higher end model; a 5.1” 720p phone with a 2.3GHz CPU.
