Kristin Chenoweth to Play Evil Witch in Descendants

She is going to be playing the role of Maleficent, the wicked witch who places a curse on Sleeping Beauty, in Disney’s Descendants. The movie will feature the teen young ones of the (in)famous bad guys and girls of popular culture.

In the capacity of a movie star, Broadway actress and television celebrity, Kristin will be taking on the challenging role side by side with Angelina Jolie. The two could not be further apart. For starters, Kristin is a blonde and Jolie is a brunette.

The dramatic stuff that Descendants is made of will make for exciting viewing. It shows a current day natural kingdom where the teenage heir of the king and queen is almost ready to take on the position of future monarch. However, his main plea is to allow the youngsters of the evil ones to be rehabilitated from their bad natures.

Among the villains and vamps are Maleficent and her daughter Mal with whom she has mother-daughter spats and tussles. It will consist of a whole lot of action sequences worth looking at with open eyes.

The choreographer for the show is the same one who dealt with High School Musical. And summer is the season when the whole cast is to start shooting. Next year in May the movie will get released to a worldwide audience.

Besides Kristin who will be playing Maleficent, there are other stars and starlets who will play Carlos, Evvie and Jay. Kristin has previously acted in The Good Wife (she was injured while on set) and The West Wing not to mention a show with her own name.

The scriptwriters for Disney’s latest venture want to lend pizzazz and pep to the show via a complex plot. The characters and the situation are fast-paced and will entertain both adults and children.
