Galaxy S5 Developer Edition on Verizon Now Available for $599

The Galaxy S5 Developer Edition was first reported on the internet after it got listed on Samsung’s site in April but no further information had been given earlier on and we were suspecting that it would come out soon enough. Finally the ‘Coming Soon’ sign has been changed to “Add to cart” which means that the device is now available for purchase.

Samsung’s regular new 2014 flagship is now available in the Developer Edition for $599 off-contract. The phone’s unlockable bootloader will allow grant you all the freedom which you would normally expect on any other Android phone. These normally don’t provide you with all the freedom in practical terms because of the limitations posed by the carriers but it should be this way anyway.

The company hasn’t done so well with the listing of the phone because a price tag does not appear until the phone is added to the cart for purchase. Once the phone has been added to the cart, the $599 price can be seen along with a mini-questionnaire about your developer ways. You would find no major changes as the phone looks just like the ordinary models being sold by Verizon. No changes have been made as far as specs are concerned and the unlockable bootloader is the only change.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
