Dannielynn Birkhead, the 7-year-old daughter of Larry Birkhead and the late Anna Nicole Smith, accompanied her dad to the Kentucky Derby on Saturday—a fabulous occasion for tulle and pint-size fascinators if there ever was one!

She wore a dress fit for a Disney princess with a pastel floral top and a full pink skirt dotted with flowers. Her hat—because one must do hats at the Derby—was a regular confection of blue netting, butterflies and flowers. Dannielynn finished the look with springtastic pink and blue sandals. Birkhead was dressed for the horse race-meets-fashion show in a baby blue suit and plaid tie, complemented with a pink pocket square.

But seriously, could this child look more like her mom and dad, from her light blond hair and bright blue eyes to her sweet little smile. (The red carpet photo was taken at a public event.) It's hard to believe there was ever a legal battle over who her real father was... Anyway, ancient history.

Dannielynn and her dad seem to be doing great together, with Birkhead reporting to E News this past November, "I have told her from a young age, ‘Mom's in heaven.' She understands that."

"She's pretty satisfied with the stories that I give her [about Anna Nicole] at this moment," he said. "And as she gets older, I may have to get Dr. Phil in or something." He is not kidding when she is old enough to understand all her mom went through in her rough life she may have a hard time with it all.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
