Last week the Financial Times reported that Apple is close to acquire Beats Music for $3.2B. The unconfirmed report dominated Apple news last week. Things got weird when a video of Dr. Dre and Tyrese surfaced that show them celebrating the acquisition. There is still now official word from Apple.
Apple usually is not announcing their acquisitions, but this one would be the biggest in history. Apple would need to say something about it. After all the reports and speculations an announcement is due for today in my mind. Unless of course the whole report is bogus to begin with or far from closing.
The opinions on why Apple would buy Beats range from getting back into peripherals to the focus being the Beats Music streaming service. Other reports focus on Dr. Dre and Jimmy lovine are the main reason for the acquisition.
Only Apple knows what the truth is. Let's see if today brings clarity to the whole story.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.
The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
