CarPlay is coming soon, but there still aren’t any devices that are going to actually be able to use it. That is about to change in the next few weeks, though, if Pioneer has anything to say about it.
Apple Balla reports that Pioneer has put on display their newest features that they are planning for their NEX line of products that will be the first to use the system that was included with iOS 7.1 updates that came out recently. In particular, the Siri feature is going to be used extensively to help make driving much safer compared to the past when users were very tempted to use their phone while they are driving.
The kind of safety that this can bring should not be understated. Also, there will be the benefit of having the GPS system right in the dash of the computer, rather than having to look at it as you drive. The price of this initial model is going to be around $700. That might seem out of the price range for a lot of people, although in the coming year there will be additional models that are down to $500, with even cheaper ones coming out in years to come. By being the first to market, Pioneer will be able to choose the price that they initially set, although once more start seeing the stores it will be possible to have more competitive pricing systems that other companies will be able to bring.
Stay tuned to find out what other options we will see coming soon and just how soon Pioneer will be bringing this into a store near you.
