He has been missing her very badly since she left his side. And left to himself, Robin is just not capable of surviving in this mean old world. When he received the award for Top R&B Single, Robin expressed his gratitude towards his wife who had tolerated him for so long.
"Most importantly, I'd like to thank my wife for her love and support, and for putting up with me for all these years," said Thicke after accepting the award.
Robin and Paula had released a statement regarding their separation a few months ago. They also declared that they would still be good friends and will respect each other. "We will always love each other and be best friends," the couple told Us Weekly.
They have a three year old son named Julian whom both parents deeply love. It was rumored that in the end it was Paula who wanted to call it “splitsville”. Robin was willing to give it a try again for the sake of their one and only son.
Robin and Paula were dating each other even back in high school. They were the perfect match. Robin also sang “Ger her Back” at the Billboad Music Awards. He had especially written this song in order to woo back his wife.
"Alright, y'all, help me get her back," Thicke said to the crowd. Thicke sang, "I should've kissed you longer/ I should've held you stronger. All I wanna do is make it right... I gotta get her, go get her back/ I gotta treat her right /I gotta cherish her for life"
It looks like the poor fellow is really desperate for those tender arms to hold him tight. Obviously, so long as you have something, you are careless and unthankful about it. But the moment it flees your grasp, you are left with a hankering feeling to acquire it at all costs.
Robin Thicke was quite full of spunk and chutzpah as he sang the staccato lyrics to the song. He truly looked like a man in love with his ex-spouse. He wanted her more than any other woman in the entire world.
Meanwhile, Robin Thicke won 4 awards at this year's Billboard Music Awards show, including Top Hot 100 Song, Top Digital Song, Top Radio Song and Top R&B Song.
