Ryan Hunter-Reay won the Indy 500 2014. The Florida resident never won the Indy 500 race before. Last year he had bad luck with yellow flag incident. Ryan Hunter-Reay made before already to #3. He definitely was up for the win.
Hunter-Reay was driving the No. 28 DHL car for Andretti Autosport. He held off three-time Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves by a only .0600 of a second, which was the second-closest margin of victory in the history of the Indy 500.
"It's a dream come true," said Hunter-Reay, who is the first American winner since Sam Hornish Jr. in 2006. "This (race) is American history; this is better than a championship.
