Mexican Manual Uribe died at age of 48. He was once the heaviest man on earth weighing 1,230lbs (560kg).

Manuel Uribe was the heaviest human on the planet in 2006 as certified by the Guinness World Record book. Back then he had an astonishing weight of 1,230lbs (560kg). Mexican Manuel Uribe lost a huge amount of weight over the last years. The Guardian reports that he was down to 867lbs (394kg). It was still not enough to save his life. He died at the age of 48 yesterday.

Uribe spent the last 12 years mostly confined to his bed as he could not walk.
