Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg got summoned by a conservative court in Iran. He is not likely to follow the call.

An Iranian court has some questions about privacy for Mark Zuckerberg. According to Iranian state news agency ISNA, a court in the southern province of Fars is investigating privacy violations in WhatsApp and Instagram.

Young Iranians are embracing the internet more and more. The religious conservatives have a problem with that as the influence of western culture will increase. The Iranian President Rouhani is for Iran to embrace the internet and not censor it as the hardliners want.

Mark Zuckerberg is not likely to travel to Iran. Even if he wanted to it is difficult to get a VISA as Iran is still under sanctions for its nuclear activities.

The report does not reveal what specific privacy violations the Iranians are complaining about. Are they the same issues Western users have with Facebook?
