E! Online is showing Hilary Duff's new 'do...and it's quite a difference.
Posting the pictures on Instagram, Hilary cuts her he long blonde tresses down to a messy, chin-length bob.
Marcus Francis, which Duff calls her "favorite" hair dresser, cut the length down and offered a more versatile, low maintenance look. In the mid-chop snapshot, the man is holding a pair of scissors as Hilary laughs in the mirror.
Those golden locks now have darker streaks, making the new style really stand out. Do you think she looks like an Olsen twin in the posted selfie?
The chopped edges gives the 26-year-old entertainer a new brand as she starts to put out new music for fans. And follows the latest trend for female stars to hack off the hair for the summer.
Francis talked to US Weekly, saying that chopping the hair off meant “a bigger change and just to feel healthier in general.” Taking off the three inches offered a “blunt” base with “slightly more angled having it shorter in the back.” Using the layers gives the actress more movement and she definitely loves it.
In fact, she wanted it shorter! “Once she saw what three inches looked like, she felt the length was perfect.” Changing the texture of cut made the hair feel thicker and getting that healthier look she wanted.”
How do you maintain the look? Francis reveals he simply used “Suave dry-shampoo for the matte, day-old clean hair” look in the #Selfie photograph.
The mom-of-one will also find the new hairdo easier to handle in the summer as she's running around in Los Angeles with her toddler son Luca.
Luca's father and Hilary's soon-to-be ex-husband is former hockey player Mike Comrie. The on-again, off-again couple are working towards parenting their son in a respectful manner, so their son doesn't feel the negative effects of a bitter divorce.
In the past several months, we’ve seen her hair in an up ‘do, a down ‘do, dark lip stick, and bright lipstick. She’s not opposed to playing with her look.
People’s Style Watch recently interviewed the songstress. Varying her look day-to-day offers a lot of opportunity to appear difference with little changes. “You can just put something on and all of a sudden you’ve morphed into something different. It brings out a tone in your personality and you get to play with that.” Of chopping off three-inches of hair is not a little change, but she’ll be able to "balance it with [her] look and [her] makeup.”
