The phone features a tougher metallic shell and the same water resistance
So after all those reviews and leaks on the Galaxy S5 Active, we finally have got sight of the device coming out of the covers as it goes official. The phone is available today on AT&T and while ruggedized phones typically lack, something compared to flagship devices, this time it looks like no notable corners were cut. The Active version features more or less the same things which are on the original S5 including the full-HD AMOLED 5.1-inch screen along with the 16-megapixel camera and fingerprint sensor.
Quite surprisingly, the phone also happens to be water resistant but that has almost fallen into the Samsung mainstream and it might not be the best selling point here. On top of all this, it features the shock-resistant dust-proof shell and a burlier look. Though the view of the phone has been rendered here but we can still bet that these metallic details and finishes could well win over Galaxy fans who are not much of the plastic fans.
The phone has been equipped with a "convenience key" on the edge which is going to help you boot up all your "outdoor apps" on a single application screen. If you are thinking fitness, then this phone is not an opportunity to be missed; you will be getting a $50 discount on the Gear Fit alongside the purchase of the GS5 Active.
