Brazil is predicted by many as the winner of World Cup 2014. The country might be the winner of the game, but Brazil's people will be loser in any case.

As the FIFA World Cup 2014 approaches the predictions of the winner come in from all kinds of sources. Investment bank Goldman Sachs for instance sees Brazil as the clear favorite of the World Cup 2014. Most betting sites also list Brazil as the winner according to oddchecker.

So Brazil likely wins the World Cup 2014, but Brazil's people pay a very high price for hosting the FIFA World Cup. Reports revealed that Brazil spends $11 billion on the World Cup 2014. There is no way of making any money back as FIFA does not pay any taxes in the host country.

There have been several protests recently that went violent. Brazilians are though big soccer fans and the excitement for soccer might put away the protests.

Brazil is also going to host the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, which costs another $10 billion according to recent announcement of the Brazilian government.

A new AFP report today reveals that some of the soccer stadiums are still not finished, 10 days before the kick-off of the World Cup 2014.
