Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe have been together for over 2 years

Eddie Redmayne is anything but Les Miserables.

The actor, who played the role of Marius in the film adaptation of the beloved musical, proposed to Hannah Bagshawe, his girlfriend of two-plus years, over Memorial Day weekend, his rep confirms.

Redmayne, 32, said that he looks for "a proper sense of individuality" in a woman, as well as "comfort in their skin," also appreciates his fiancée's keen eye – for good reason.

"I'm color blind," he said, why Bagshawe helps him get dressed.

"When I go out to premieres and events, I have to check with my girlfriend that the trousers match the top," Redmayne said. "I recently wore a blue suit – and I had to ask her if it was really blue rather than purple. She assured me it was blue. I could not tell the difference."

"I'm lucky to be with someone who is very supportive," he added. The Jupiter Ascending actor had been planning to propose for quite some time, a second source says. "He asked her father's permission—the whole deal."

The duo, who first stepped out in 2012 and live in London together, "remained strong" while Redmayne's career took off the past couple of years, the second source adds. "He's remained completely level headed through everything," the first source tells of the actor who has worked with Anne Hathaway and Michelle Williams.

No word yet on exactly when the pair will tie the knot, but Bagshawe is already considered part of Redmayne's family. The second source adds Bagshawe "has been basically a part of the family for years now reports US.”
