Improved Siri, Photos and Maps make their way into iOS 8

When Apple introduced Maps for the first time they faced huge criticism from the users, as Google Maps were much better and useful but Apple has come a long way today. On iOS 8 Apple has promised better maps for China. Talking about Siri, it has been improved too. Now instead of holding down the Home button you can just say " Hey Siri" and it will respond to your commands.

Siri is smarter now as it can now listen to your song and recognise it, thanks to Shazam integration and you can now download the same song directly from Siri search result. Siri now recognises 22 new dictation languages.

Coming to the Photos app, Apple has greatly improved the app with new features. You can now edit your photos and it will be saved across all your iOS devices via Smart Editing feature. It is now actually a unified photo library where you can access all your photos on every iOS device of yours. All the photos and videos are now stored on iCloud in full resolution and you get 5GB of free cloud storage.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
